The fall of the Wall

I have been reading and watching some interesting stories about the fall of the Berlin Wall this past week.  And I have to say I am amazed at how much I have learned about how the wall came down.  Its seems several factors contributed to the walls demise, not least of which was a press secretary just returned from vacation to announce East German passports.  I was 11 years old when the wall fell but I still remember staying up watching the excitement knowing this was important but not really understanding why.  It is only now, 20 years later, that I am beginning to appreciate the importance of what I actually saw.
